Lesson 2 of 90
I can count on one hand the number of times anyone has given me a prophetic word. And because it is so rare, I remember, almost verbatim what the prophet or those working in the prophetic gifting have shared with me. The second word I received in my life was my position in the body of Christ as an Oracle. At the time I wondered what that meant, later in life I wondered when I would start.
Then came social media and I found it to be the perfect platform to speak to my children the words of wisdom that I think are important, the words I want to reiterate, and the words that I know they’ll appreciate later in life if not today—and social media was the perfect indirect approach.
What I didn’t realize is how many people would find short prayers and reminders of life beneficial. If my children never responded or reposted what they read for them, countless others did! You see, initially, I thought social media was in and of itself a gigantic waste of valuable time. What I didn’t realize was, herein was the forum God would use to speak into lives as an oracle.
I found out much later that my natural children were glancing at posts while others were benefiting. With this in mind, I wanted to capture what would expire over time into something my children, and you, could reference forever.
Some of the sayings you may have heard before and others you may have known but never really considered. Regardless, my prayer is that you enjoy each page, as I’m direct, facetious and principled. Just know I speak from the heart of a mother with good intentions towards you.
Let the read bless your life and know little tweaks here and there, or a complete overhaul in personality can make the difference in having a fulfilled existence or a life denied of the many benefits available to you as a believer.
Now, the Words of an Oracle...
Dear Woman,
Like the Apostles wrote letters to the early church, these are the posts I made on social media and elaborated as a letter just for you. They are designed to inspire and provoke you to be, do and have everything God intended for your life. Some days are a reminder, others are an admonishment, but each day is designed to encourage you.
Sometimes we just need to be encouraged. We can know the Truth and know what’s right, but a reminder is always refreshing. This devotional is designed to be just that—refreshing.
LESSON 2
“When you lose something start cleaning up and you’ll find it, every time.”
“When you lose something start cleaning up and you’ll find it, every time.”
How easy it is to misplace things in life especially if you’re not particular about everything having a place. Truth is, we all lose items from time to time, and when that happens, it’s an inconvenience that demands immediate attention. Quite often, our search is methodical for most objects, yet most of us are completely unbalanced and unsure of where to begin when we are lost inwardly.
The best approach to finding lost items is to begin cleaning up. What we do not always realize is, the same is true when we are lost inwardly. As people, we are spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23). If we are physically lost, we have GPS, Amber alerts, “Finder” apps on smartphones, etc. to help us become found. For our spirit, we are no longer lost when we accept Christ (Romans 10:9-10) into our lives. Our soul, however, can become lost and we flounder.
The soul is made up of our mind, our imagination, our emotions, our will and our intellect. And it is here, nestled under a confident exterior, that there are times when our dreams are lost, our feelings are misplaced, and our thoughts are disoriented. There are times when we are intellectually distracted, and our will is under-stimulated. We are going through the motions barely able to recognize the person reflected in the mirror.
It’s a wilderness experience that can cause apathy, frustration, and discouragement, maybe even depression. So, I say again, the best thing to do if you’re lost inwardly is to start cleaning up. Rid the extras and find the original “you” before life happened. Get to the root of what you enjoy so that you are closer to what is intrinsically you.
Peel the layers back in your life to see where you got off track. For instance, maybe you were an avid swimmer who thoroughly enjoyed morning laps before a full day. It gave you a chance to think, plan and strategize. It was your time. Then, life happened and due to a series of circumstances—you moved, your schedule changed, responsibilities increased, etc.—you stopped swimming. And while you made the adjustment because you had to, time has replaced swimming and many other things that were unique to you. What are those things? If it’s swimming, get back to it! If it is doodling, get back to it! If it’s singing in the shower, get back to it! Identify it and get back to it!
Sometimes what’s lost is right under your nose. You have just overlooked it! Start cleaning up. You may not be as lost as you feel, but if you are, peel the layers back and locate where you were when you were confident, then get back to it.
I declare what was lost must be found in your life today!
I related to the message when I changed (you to I) it gave me clarity and I was able to relate to how I was felling!!
